This week our cleaning topic is a little odd.  However I have been asked several times lately about how to remove the free window side of a sliding window and also how to effectively clean the track.  Our website has even been hit numerous times with google searches on the topic.

So, while this is a fairly simple procedure, I will address it step by step.
Basically the moving side of the window can be removed by simply lifting it up pushing it into the top of the frame and then pulling the bottom toward you.   If the window will not lift up high enough to be removed then look at the top of the frame for blocks.  These are little vinyl inserts that keep the window from being lifted and removed.  This prevents someone from outside your home removing the window and perhaps disengaging the latch.

Hi Everyone!   This week will be the last in a series of Carpet Care Newsletters.  Not that we won't ever go back and touch on it again, there is just so much ground to cover in other areas as well.
This week I am going to explain the difference between a spot and a stain.
I have all kinds of inquiries about whether certain spills and messes can be taken out of carpet.   My answer to this is, it depends on whether it is a spot or a stain.  A Spot will come out and a stain won't.    How do I know the difference?   I don't until I try to remove it.   You would be surprised how much can be removed by a certified professional carpet cleaner.

Good Day Everyone!

I hope you have all been well this last week!  Today I am going to address frequency.  How often should you have your carpets cleaned?

The frequency of cleaning for your carpets depends very much upon how much use your carpets get and your own living situation.  First of all lets dispel the myth that cleaning your carpets to much only leads to them soiling faster.   This can be true, but only if you have your carpets cleaned by an untrained, non certified  technician.  Carpets can and will attract dirt quickly if they are left in a high alkaline state.  To make a long story short, after cleaning, the PH state of your carpet should be neutral or very close to neutral.  Being left in an unbalanced state can cause re soiling and or "crunchy" stiff fibers and other problems.  A knowledgeable Tech will bring the PH level to neutral upon completion.

Hi Everyone,

This week we will take a look at carpet conditions.  How do you know whether to spend the money to have your carpets cleaned or if its just time to replace them.
Actually this can be a very different decision for most people.   It really is a matter of how tolerant you are concerning the look of your carpet.  Obviously when you start to see bare spots, holes or tearing its pretty much time to give up the battle and purchase new.   However, if the hole or rip is a small central location and you have some carpet scraps that you saved, you can actually have a carpet repair performed on the spot.

Hello Again Everyone!

I can’t believe another week has gone by.  The summer just whizzed on by!    This week we are going to touch on pricing and advertising for carpet cleaning.   I mentioned it a little last week, and now I want to elaborate a little.

The pricing for having your carpets cleaned can be very confusing.  When I open my mail and look through all the coupon mailers (yes, I look at them)  I cannot believe how many carpet cleaning services are in there!  It’s amazing.  Then is you line them all up and look at all the different advertised specials and deals, WOW!, it is really overwhelming.   How would you possibly know which service to choose?
